Profession is “A paid occupation, especially one that prolonged training and formal qualification”, says the first search result on Google.com. Pay attention here on the highlighted words, Paid (you will get remuneration), Prolonged (its not a weekend or part time business), Qualification (one must attain the certain level of understanding in the genre). An amateur is is a weekend warrior or part timer, losses his track quite often and never achieve what he intended, its waste of time or even harmful sometimes.
Being diabetic (or not) is a choice, Diabetes wont cause any harm, its that poorly controlled state will, most of the people are amateurs in it, so they end up in developing all the complications (caused by poorly managed Diabetes). Being professional at it is different ball game. Back to those highlighted words,
Paid= Yes! Being a professional diabetic Patient (or professional Non diabetic) will save a heck lot of money (in the form of more and more Medications, tests, admission on a long run), increase life span more than 10+ years!
Prolonged= Yes! Since you are a Professional Diabetic ( or professional Non diabetic) its your job to do it every single day, no breaks…non stop. (Let me give an example, you are already a professional, in the job that you do, right? You’ve been doing it ever since you remember, You have worked almost all days in the past years, that’s what called as a professional!)
Qualification=There are clear cut goals (HbA1c 7 to 7.5% with all internal organs functioning nicely (How will u know that? By doing annual evaluation of the same)
hence the perfectly controlled Diabes is a definate Profession which will pay handsomely for doing the necessary things for prolonged period of time!
